About Me

Welcome to my blog!  I'm Jessica, a 20-something Christian wife, speech-language pathology graduate student, and mama-to-be.

At my blog, you'll read about: Christianity, marriage, healthy living, my homemaking endeavors, and everyday life around the W household.

I went on my first date with my husband, Luke, eight years ago, and we have been married for four of those.  He is my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, and my partner in crime.  I have learned so much about love and compromise through my relationship with him.

We have two fur babies, and they may make the occasional appearance on the blog.  Ellie and Gabby are a good substitute for babies until we have our own!

In the fall of 2012, I began a 2-year graduate program in speech-language pathology at The University of Akron.  I have my bachelors degree in early childhood education, but had been feeling the call to try something new.  I truly believe I've found my niche with this major!

I have recently become very interested in holistic medicine, and am striving toward healthy living.  I am very passionate about eating right, and try to treat my health problems as naturally as possible.

Above all else, I have been saved by God's grace, and my number one goal is to share His love with others!  I write a lot about my faith journey, and I'm very open about how my struggle with infertility for 2.5 years has shaped that journey.  God brought Luke and I so much closer to each other, and to Him through that time.

In November of 2012, when we least expected it, I took a pregnancy test and got the shock of my life: a positive result!  We had decided to put a hold on "trying" until I was almost done with grad school.  God's timing is perfect, no matter how hectic grad school is about to become!  We can't wait to welcome our daughter, Scarlett Elise, into the family on or around July 22, 2013!

Please grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile!  I love meeting new readers and would love to hear from you!  Contact me at mysomethingbeautifulblog@gmail.com.  God bless!
