Crazy Love

I had my "Crazy Love" (by Francis Chan) Bible study tonight. It was great! This is another life-changing book like "The Battlefield of the Mind" (Joyce Meyer) was in the fall. It is such a simple book, but really kind of slaps you right in the face. We have only studied the first two chapters, but already I can feel my outlook changing. I thought I'd share some tidbits that really stuck out to me tonight:

*Sometimes we need to stop praying for a minute and acknowledge God. Make sure prayer doesn't just become an automatic thing that is a routine.

*God is evidenced by His intricate creation. If we forget the power of God, we need only to look out our windows at the beauty of His creation. Or even just think about the intricacies of the systems in our bodies and how he has orchestrated them together so that they work just like a well-oiled machine. How can you NOT believe in God when you think about things like that?!

*God has a purpose for all of our lives. But we don't need to think about this "purpose" as something far off that we hope to accomplish sometime in our lives. He has a purpose each and every day for us, and we should concentrate on fulfilling that. Whether it's just helping someone out or showing someone love.

*We were created by God and FOR God. Our true purpose is to bring him glory in every situation, each and every day of our lives.

*We are not guaranteed a tomorrow. Or even a next breath. Today could be the day that we see Jesus face to face. If there's anything you would regret about your life if you saw Jesus today, change it! This is the thing that hit me more than anything else. I am done spending my time worrying because if today was my last day, I would regret that I spent so much time and energy worrying about things that I have no control over anyway. God is in control, and when I worry, I limit his power.

I know I just did a book review yesterday, but this is another GREAT book worth checking out! And I'm only about 50 pages in :-)
