It's week 2 of school, and what is happening to me ALREADY??
I can feel a cold coming on. Seriously, day 5 with the kids and I'm already sick. I guess it comes with the territory when you hold the #1 germiest job in America! (9 places above meat packer? Really?!)
It all started yesterday when I kept sneezing. And then this morning I had a dull headache. 10 Hours later, and I feel like my sinuses are on fire. Oh, and I can't really breathe. Not fun. When you're working a daily lunch duty and have to open numerous food packages for kindergartners who can't do it themselves, and who probably tried with their TEETH 20 seconds earlier, there's no way to dodge the germs. I don't care how long I scrub my hands and hold them under the scalding water right before I eat my lunch (right after lunch duty), I just can't get rid of all the germs. Kind of disgusting if you think about it.
So anyway, I'm tired and I'm sick. Obviously my motivation to do ANYTHING is a little low right now. Luckily, we are having a get-together for the Ohio State/USC game this Saturday (I'm not allowed to call it a "party." Apparently every year we have a "party," we jinx the Buckeyes and cause them to lose. So we're not having a "party." But we're telling everyone that if they happen to show up, they can certainly hang out at our place and watch the game. But it's NOT a "party." Yeah, I don't get it either. Boys are silly :-P). I think a tornado went through the house this weekend while we were away or something. That's the only reason I can think of that would cause it to be in THIS disastrous condition! So knowing that we have a bunch of people coming over Saturday for a non-party is motivating me to get the place somewhat presentable. And trust me, it WILL take all week!
Luckily I have a sweet husband who is going to accompany me as I go to the grocery store tonight. It would be almost too daunting a task if I knew I had to do it alone. Maybe I can talk him into stopping at Family Video on the way home, and we can snuggle up and watch a movie later (and probably fall asleep). Nights like that are the best...especially when you have a second-week-of-school COLD already!
I hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to me during my Week 2! Hang in there, friend! Rest up and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteFeel better! I think colds are just going around the country right now - I know so many people who have been sick in the last couple of weeks! I haven't got it yet though (knock on wood).
ReplyDeletePoor thing, feel better!!
ReplyDeleteaw, I hope you feel better soon! Have fun this weekend at your non-party. ;)
ReplyDeleteUgh, so sorry to hear about you being sick! Hopefully you will be getting it out of your system and you'll be good for the rest of the year!
ReplyDeleteI spent a good amount of time on the website you rec. I love it! Thank you! Some of the ones I posted are sometimes vulger, but generally they are very entertaining.
