My Day in a Nutshell

The Good: I finally got my work schedule 100% figured out! And I learned not to judge students by the reputation that comes before them. One 6th grade boy has quite the reputation at my school as a complete trouble-maker. I know it is only the third day of school, but he has been such a sweetheart so far! He has been completely eager to learn and to try his best. He told me today that he loves my class, and didn't want to leave. (That made me feel pretty good :-)). He's been such a blessing in my room, and honestly, I'm totally shocked! But I definitely learned not to judge students by what the other teachers say about them (shoulda learned this one a long time ago, I guess!)

The Bad: I forgot to bring my lunch to work! And I just really didn't want to spend my own splurge money on nasty pizza, jello, and a salad drenched in Italian dressing. Some cafeteria meals are delicious, but I don't really care for their pizza. So I ate a few sour patch kids in my room, and pigged out when I got home!

The EXCELLENT: Luke ordered our Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets today!! The concert isn't until a few days before Christmas, but we're still super excited! This will be my 6th year in a row going to their Christmas concert. The past two years, they've been in Cleveland AFTER Christmas. But this year we're going on the 19th or 20th (Luke bought tickets for both days b/c he was trying to get really good seats...we're selling one set of tickets. Any takers??? :-P) And also excellent is the fact that I'm going over to my friend Kristin's house in a few minutes to swap books with her. She is letting me borrow "Breaking Dawn." I've heard it's one of the best books int he Twilight series, so I can't wait to get my hands on it! I just finished "Eclipse" the other day, and I've been chomping at the bit to start another one.

And that was my day in a nutshell :-)

  1. My husband and I have been thinking about getting tickets to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I guess it's worth it if you've seen it so many times! :)

  5. Maybe the boy just needed someone to give him some attention. I'm glad things are working out. I thought Breaking Dawn was the worst of all four books. It's so weird. I was disappointed in it. Can't wait to hear what you think of it.

  6. I can't believe you're going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra! We want to go see their concert SO badly! How much were the tickets, if you don't mind my asking?

  7. Callie: The tickets were $68 a piece. Kinda pricey, but we think it's worth it so we budget for it every year. It's really an amazing show!
