Do you notice a theme with all my recipes? They are always very tasty, but never, ever healthy! What can I say? I'm just glad that I'm finally getting the hang of this cooking thing now that I have almost 3 years of marriage under my belt...I haven't been too worried about whether or not my recipes have been HEALTHY. Maybe I should, but not today! Because I have to share this recipe with you first.
My mom's birthday was on Friday, and Julie and I used to make her an ice cream sandwich cake for her birthday all the time when we were younger. It was easy for us...we couldn't mess it up like we could a real cake!
Here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
12-24 ice cream sandwiches, depending on how large you want your cake to be. I used a square pan, and 12 ice cream sandwiches were enough.
Whipped Cream
Chocolate Syrup
Peanuts
Directions:
1. Put a layer of ice cream sandwiches covering the bottom of the pan.
2. cover the ice cream sandwiches with a layer of whipped cream, and then drizzle a generous amount of chocolate syrup on top.
3. Put another layer of ice cream sandwiches on top of all that.
4. Top it all with more whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and as many peanuts as you want.
(Random sidenote...with all the layers, I like to call it chocolate lasagna).
