P-Dub Love

On Saturday, Luke and I went to a cookout at our friends' house. I wanted to make a simple dessert for the party, and I thought a Pioneer Woman recipe would be perfect. I've only made two other P-Dub recipes: Perfect Potatoes Au Gratin, and Marlboro Man's Second Favorite Sandwich. They both turned out to be pretty delicious, so I thought it was about time to try a dessert from the website.

I decided to make her Raspberry Cream Pie. It looked simple enough, and also looked absolutely delicious. Plus I love raspberries.

Here is the recipe if you want to make it. Trust me, you won't regret it! Also, check out her picture, and compare it with my picture...it looks almost the same! I always love it when my food matches the picture! Except hers looks a little bit better, I think :-)
It was very quick and easy to make. It was so sweet, and the raspberry was just delicious. And the oreo crust gave it a little kick.

I topped it all off with some oreo crumbs and the giant mutant raspberries I bought at Giant Eagle (next time I'll make it when raspberries are still in season!)Next time I make it (and there will be a next time!) I think I'll try it with a graham cracker crust. Or maybe a shortbread crust. A Lorna Doone crust sounds like HEAVEN. Oh, how I love Lorna Doones! The oreo crust was good, don't get me wrong, but I think for my personal preferences, it was a little too chocolaty. I can't believe I just said that, being the chocoholic that I am! But the raspberry on it's own was so delicious, the chocolate was a little bit much for me.

I just love the Pioneer Woman website. I love how Ree writes everything out, step-by-step, and even takes pictures of every step. for those of us who need a little extra guidance in the kitchen [ ahem...me ] it is so perfect!

What is your favorite Pioneer Woman meal?

  1. I LOVE the PW - her recipes are awesome. So far we've tried her Pizza Crust {this is our favorite..we eat it once about every week}, Onion Strings {oh, so good!}, and I tried her Chicken Spaghetti recipe on my last freezer cooking day, but didn't like it as much as my old family recipe. But she is incredible! :)
