Week in Review

Sunday 8/1 - Luke and I went to church, and then I spent the day preparing for the church picnic. I made cheesy potatoes. At the picnic we ate way too much food, then had a worship service, and then 17 people got baptized in the lake. It was beautiful! Afterwards, Luke and I headed to a friends' house and watched Anchorman in their awesome basement theater room with a bunch of friends.
Monday 8/2 - After borrowing my grandma's car to turn in papers for work (my car's still in the shop), Sarah came over to hang out for the afternoon. We talked and made fun plans! Later that evening I went to Luke's softball games. They were by far the best and most exciting games of the year, and they amazingly won both of them, pushing them into a higher seed for the tournaments next week. After the game, I came home and stayed up way too late watching the DVR'd Bachelorette finale, and the After the Final Rose special. (I loved both Chris and Roberto, and I thought Ali was very classy in the way she handled everything. I really hope Chris is the next Bachelor!)

Tuesday 8/3 - I spent the day cleaning the house, and then had a date night with Luke! We went shopping at the mall (I bought a maple pancake scented candle from Yankee Candle Company. I can't believe all their fall scents are out! I guess it is getting closer to that time), ate some Chik-Fil-A in the food court, ran into our friends while we were there, and ended the evening going to see "Dinner for Schmucks." The movie was okay, but not as funny as I was expecting.

Wednesday 8/4 - I went shopping in the morning in preparation of my friend Kristin's visit. Kristin and I ordered a pizza when she got to my house, and we spent the afternoon watching creepy movies (because they are Kristin's favorite kind). We watched "The New Daughter" and "Stay Alive." Both movies were okay. It was thunderstorming while we watched, though, so that was fun! Wednesday evening I chilled at home with Luke. I watched "Pan's Labyrinth" while it stormed some more, bringing my grand total of movies watched on Wednesday to THREE! The last movie was probably the most depressing movie I've ever seen.

Thursday 8/5 - Sarah and I spent the day in Canton. We went to lunch at The Winking Lizard Tavern and shopping at Belden Village Mall. It was super fun! Thursday evening, I went to Luke's softball games with my mother-in-law, where Luke hit both a home run, and a GRAND SLAM!! It was the first time I'd ever seen him hit a grand slam! He must've eaten his Wheaties Thursday morning ;-)

Friday 8/6 - I again spent the day with Kristin. We just hung out at her house for a few hours. Then I came home to make dinner and get some things done around the house. Luke and I ended the evening with a trip to see the late showing of "The Other Guys" starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. I barely stayed awake until the end :-P

Saturday 8/7 - I woke up and headed out with my parents. We went to lunch at Perkins, and then met up with some friends at the Canfield Dog Show. It was fun, and we saw lots of interesting things and adorable puppies. Saturday night I chilled at home, ate burgers and fries with Luke, and then had some "me time" on Saturday night while Luke hung out with his friend. I watched "Sense and Sensibility" and read to my heart's content.
Another busy, busy week! And I watched even more movies than last week (I counted 7)! Instant Netflix is an addiction. It was a great week. I'm trying to savor every last minute since it will be back to school time before I know it!

  1. Wow, that does sound like a great week! We've been really into movies lately-but from our home collection since we can't do netflix outside of the good ol USA. boo.
