I wasn't planning on making a card with our picture this year, but when I heard about Shutterfly giving bloggers 50 free Christmas cards, I was all over that!
As I was designing our card, I remembered THE picture. It was taken in the middle of the winter last year when Luke and I had the time of our lives sledding and riding the 4-wheeler after a huge blizzard. I thought it was the perfect, Christmasy picture. I like it so much more than a formal one of us posing! Even if I do look like a little girl with a cone-head :-P
Just for fun, here is our card from last year: (As a completely unrelated side note, my hair is about to be that short again, and I can't wait!)
I designed that one all completely myself in Digital Image Pro. But I must say, it was sooo much easier to use Shutterfly this year! I'm so glad I did, even if it looks slightly more generic, and I put slightly less effort into it!.
I love Christmas cards, and even though it seems like less and less people are sending them nowadays, I think I will continue to send them out every year. Call me crazy, but I enjoy addressing them and writing a little note in each one. It helps me de-stress and get in the Christmas spirit! (Ask me again once I have kids, and it might be a different story!)
What a fun idea for the photo you put on the card! Looks great!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, such a cute card; thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I thought that was such a great idea for a picture for your Christmas cards! I'm with you, I think people don't send cards out as much any more, but I think I'll keep doing it every year - it's just fun to send and receive cards!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture! =)
ReplyDeleteI designed our cards last year too, but it was SO much easier just picking on out on Shutterfly. :)
