Date Night 7: Dinner and White Elephant Shopping

Last week our to-do list was so long we had to incorporate it into our date night. It was my week to pick, so I decided we'd go out to eat, and then shopping for white elephant gifts on Monday night.

I wanted to go out to Panchos, and my mouth was watering for Mexican food. We got all the way to the restaurant, only to find that it is closed on Mondays! It was a bummer, but we changed our plans and headed to Applebees instead.

Here's a crappy cell phone pic of Luke in the awesome t-shirt he wore. Check out the beard, too. He's not shaving it until his trip to Colorado is over after New Years. I tell him He's starting to look a little Amish.

We ordered delicious boneless wings as an appetizer

And Luke chose steak and I chose the Oriental Chicken Salad for entrees.

Our dinner was delicious, and then we headed to my least favorite store ever, Walmart, to look for gifts for white elephant gift exchanges. We had two exchanges to buy for, so between the two of us, we needed four gifts.

We had SO MUCH FUN looking through Walmart for funny, cheap, tacky, weird things for the exchanges. We didn't just grab the first things we found, either. We walked through the entire store, and found some really good stuff. I wish I could share with you what we chose, but I'm afraid some of my family members might be reading this, and I don't want to ruin the surprise! ;-)

This may not have been the most romantic date night ever, but it was fun! We are having so much fun with our weekly date nights! Even if it's not a fancy date, it's nice to purposefully set aside time each week to spend together, just the two of us.

Unfortunately, Luke is heading out to Colorado because his band is playing at a young adult conference the day after Christmas, so our date nights will have to resume in a week or two! I will miss him so much while he's gone!
