I wore a dress and ballet flats to church for the first time in months, and I walked there since we live so close. My friend Lindsey who lives in Chicago was visiting, so I got to see and catch up with her at church which was wonderful!!
After church, me and Luke and our friends Marc and JC all went to lunch at Doug's, a greasy, burger joint. I hadn't eaten there in years, but it was pretty good!
I came home and Luke went to the church to practice and set up the stage in the new sanctuary. While he was there, I took a blanket, a book, and some headphones oustide, and laid out for about an hour listening to happy music and reading. It was amazing. While I was out there, I glanced up at our office window, and saw this little cutie. I think she wanted to come out and join me in the sun! Sorry, Ellie, but you would run away if I let you come outside with me!!
After awhile, Luke texted me and told me I should come to the church to see the sanctuary all set up and to see the band practice. Just in case you are new to my blog or don't live near me, I'll explain that a little under a year ago, we started construction of the old wing of our church to make room for new growth. It has been an amazing transformation, and our first worship service is going to be held in the new section next Sunday night, and that's why Luke and the band were practicing. Anyway, I stopped by to check it out, and thought everything looked and sounded so great! I'm so excited for next Sunday! Here's a picture of the sanctuary, and a video of the guys practicing (their rendition of I Exalt Thee). The sound quality is horrible, but I'm really excited for them :-)

While I was at the church, my cousin Rachel texted me to see if I wanted to go on a walk. Of course I agreed since it was such a beautiful day! So off we went on a walk through the neighborhood: me, Rachel, her baby girl Elin, my cousin Sarah, her baby boy Hudson, and another friend also named Rachel. confusing! haha... anyway, it was beautiful, and a great time!!
We eventually made our way back to the church, because all of our husbands were there. We hung out and listened to them practice for a little bit, and also enjoyed the adorable babies...
Then we all decided to walk over to Rachel's house and order wings for dinner. We hung out there for the evening. It was a fun way to end the day!
After we left there, Luke and I stopped at my grandma's house because she had returned from a month-long visit with my aunt in Virginia. It was nice catching up with her.
And finally we came home and crashed, watching Bert the Conqueror.
It was a full day and the sunshine and warmth made it so amazing. I wanted to soak up every ounce of that sun possible, because who knows how long it will be before we have another day like that!
Anyway, what a blessing it was! I'm so glad spring is finally here :-)
Sounds like an amazing day. The weather here is in the 70's today, and we're most def enjoying it. Have a terrific week!
