Sorry for the lack of pictures this week! I know a post is always more interesting with pictures...
Sunday 10/3 - After my crazy week last week, I was so content to come home and do absolutely nothing after church. Luke was gone all day hanging out with friends, so I didn't even have to make any meals! I watched episodes of Grey's Anatomy all day (still catching up from last season. Luckily season 6 is on Instant Netflix!) and I ended up falling asleep. I have no idea how long I was out, but I woke up feeling like I had awoken from the dead, so I think it's safe to assume that it was a pretty long while. After all that sleep, I felt super productive and spent the evening cleaning the house. It was absolutely heavenly to have all that time to rest and recuperate after my crazy week last week! I need more Sundays like that :-)
Monday 10/4 - Luke and I spent the evening out running errands, and buying boring things. It was worth it, though, because we got to eat dinner at 5 Guys. Delicious! Although I still say Hot Dog Shoppe's burgers are better!
Tuesday 10/5 - The only thing we had going on this night was our connect group. We relaxed after work and had a relaxed dinner, and then spent the evening with our group. The Bible study was great, and we had fun talking and laughing with everybody afterwards, too.
Wednesday 10/6 - I went to the grocery store after work and used coupons for the first time in months. I saved $12 on my purchase. Not great, but better than nothing, and it felt good to be back in the game! ;-) I got home and made potato soup at the request of my husband. I had just enough time to make it, eat some, and then head out to a meeting at church about the library in our new building. After the meeting, I came home and cleaned the house while Luke was at band practice. What a productive day this was!
Thursday 10/7 - I visited my grandma after work, and then later that night after dinner, Sarah came over. She worked on homework while I perused the music collection on her computer, and she even let me burn a couple of CDs with some of her songs. This was in exchange for a worship CD I had made for her a week ago. After she left, Luke and I watched The Office and I barely made it to the end before falling into a sleep so deep, I think I may have slipped into a coma :-P I don't like being exhausted all the time like I have been lately, but I do love having no trouble falling into a deep, restful sleep!
Friday 10/8 - In the evening, I went out to the movie theater with my mom and our mother/daughter friends, Julie (not to be confused with my sister, Julie) and Kristin. We saw Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. I definitely did not pick the movie, and it wasn't exactly my type. But the 3D visuals were pretty impressive, and the movie was okay, too. A little intense for a children's movie, though, if you ask me! Anyway, I enjoyed it, even though the fact that Life As We Know It was playing across the hall was killing me. I absolutely cannot wait to see that movie, and I've heard such great things about it! Hopefully I will be able to see it soon. After the movie, Mom and I made a little stop at Pizza Hut on the way home. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which was almost too hot to handle. But that's why it was so good. We enjoyed the pizza and conversation. I think I'm at the point in my life where my mom is no longer just my mom, but also my friend. The mother-daughter relationship-dynamic really seems to change once you've been out of the house for awhile. I think I'm really liking it :-)
Saturday 10/9 - Saturday was such a fun day! I left for Hartville with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law in the morning. We went to a great thrift shop, had lunch at The Hartville Kitchen, and shopped more at The Hartville Marketplace and Flea Market...I'll be doing a recap post on this trip on Monday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and the leaves have officially started to change. It was so beautiful!! I came home, and Luke and I had plans to carve our pumpkins in the evening. But Luke just seemed to tired for a project like that, so I didn't push him. Instead, he watched a movie while I read a book and fell asleep. Ugh, I'm so mad that I can't stay awake anymore, even on the weekends!
Milestones this week: Got back into couponing and shopping the sales after a 3-month hiatus (or three month bout of laziness... whatever :-P).
Books I'm reading this week: This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti. I am beyond frustrated that I still haven't finished this book. No more 500-page books for me until Christmas vacation, when I can stay awake for more than 10 minutes while I try to read!! And The Bible (Finished Ruth, and started I Samuel).
Movies I watched this week: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (B)
Songs I'm loving this Week: Don't Let Me Fall - Lenka, The Way I am - Ingrid Michaelson
Things I'm looking forward to next week: Working on and finishing another church campaign newsletter; having a day off from work on Friday for NEOEA Day!!
I must say you have pretty good weeks! You are one busy gal!
