January Raindrops

I exit the school building and enter the gray. Rain falls, and my boots slog through puddles. I roll my eyes and duck my head.

I pass someone in the parking lot as they mutter angrily. One word reaches my ear: "unbelievable."

And just like that, my eyes are opened. It is unbelievable. It's raining! In January!

Suddenly everything changes. I look up and let the cold drops sting my face. I splash through the puddles and delight in the drizzle.

The rain becomes a gift: a piece of spring.

It's all about perspective.
