One of these things is not like the othersMeaning...I'm short and everybody else in Luke's family is abnormally tall. Luke's sister, Diana, just posted this picture on facebook from a few weeks ago at her graduation. Luke, Diana, and his parents are very tall, and so are his other sister Maria and her husband, Luke (yep, 2 Lukes in this family). And then there's me. All 5'2" of me. I don't exactly fit in. Luke actually gave me a nickname after seeing this picture, "the deep end of the pool." Creative, Luke :-P
I guess it's not so bad, though. At least I always have someone to reach things on high shelves, and Luke always has someone who can fit into small places...not sure when he would ever need that, but you never know!
After almost 5 years of being with Luke I'm finally getting used to the stares and the laughs. I'm getting used to being mistaken for a high schooler. If you can't change it, embrace it, right?

And just an update on yesterday when I wrote about how our friend Scott was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday night. Scott's wife, Angela, came to church this morning. She seemed to be doing well...as well as can be expected, I guess. Scott's calling hours and funeral will be on Wednesday morning, and Angela has asked Luke's band to play at the funeral. Scott was a pretty unorthadox guy, and Angela knows he wouldn't want it any other way. So Luke and his band are going to rock out, and make Wednesday a celebration of his life. We're not sure what will happen to Scott's two sons yet, but I know our church family will continue to pray for them, and God will work out the situation. Thank you again for all your prayers.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I'll be praying for Angela and the two boys. Blessings, SusanD
ReplyDeleteBTW, "pocket size" is "fun size." My cousin is five foot nothin. :)
Sorry to come in late on this. Praying for your friends in this time of loss and celebration of life.
