To Tweet or not to Tweet

That is the question...

Okay, so am I the only one out there who doesn't get this whole Twitter thing? Do I need it? What exactly IS it? Will I become hopelessly addicted to it like I have to facebook and blogger? Too many questions.

Okay, so the impression I have of Twitter right now is that it is basically like your facebook status. But when you update, it can send it to your facebook, blog, other websites, and it is also sent as text messages. Am I right so far? I'm hopelessly confused. I guess I don't understand the point of it. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't get addicted to it if I signed up! Can someone please enlighten me? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Has it changed your life? (Just kidding about that last one).

I'm just curious :-)

On a totally different subject, today is Maundy Thursday, and tomorrow is Good Friday. I wanted to post part of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs that reminds me of Good Friday:

"While You Were Sleeping" - Casting Crowns

Little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night.
The Father gave His only son
The way, the truth, the life had come
But there was no room for Him
in the world He came to save.

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping.
The savior of the world is dying on your cross today
While you were sleeping.
While you were sleeping.

United States of America
Looks like another silent night.
While we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children.
And while you're lying in the dark,
There's a shout heard across the Eastern sky.
For the bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night.

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping?
Will Jesus come again, and leave us slumbering where we lay?

America, will you go down in history
As a nation with no room for its king?

Will we be sleeping?

  1. Eh, I am pretty non commital on my feelings towards twitter. I have it. I use it. But I am not really into it all. I like that it sends the little mini updates to my blog, for those days when I can't sit down and hammer out a post. I think I would like it more if people I "knew," followed me/ I follwed them, etc (only recently have I started following non famous bloggers- which means that the famous bloggers don't even know you exist, lol!)

  2. LOVE that song! By the way, I feel exactly the same way you do about Twittering. As of now, though, I don't think I'll jump on that bandwagon, because I already feel like enough of me is out there on Facebook and my blog, etc. But I know people who love it!

  5. I seriously do not get the whole twitter thing. After setting up an account, it's been too time consuming to figure out how the crazy thing works so I haven't done anything with it.

Some friends and I went to see Casting Crowns. Let me just say, if they're in the area, I'll go again.

Enjoy your time with your family. Spend every minute you can w/your granny. Learn from her, share with her, help her....too soon the opportunity will pass you by.

Have a joyous, blessed Easter. SusanD
