Week in Review: Lots of Pictures Edition

Sunday 9/5 - After church, Luke and I headed over to his parents' house for a picnic with the family. We ate delicious food, played games, and watched his cousin on the homemade slip-n-slide. It was a beautiful day! After that, we visited my dad and celebrated his birthday late, since he and my mom had just gotten back from Myrtle Beach.

Monday 9/6 - We spent most of our Labor Day getting things done around the house, but then went to the Canfield Fair in the evening. We enjoyed lots of fair food and saw all the typical fair things. We also got to see Jeff Dunham perform, and despite the fact that I think he could keep it a little less vulgar and still be just as funny, I really enjoyed it.

Tuesday 9/7 - It was hard going back to work this day after a 4-day weekend. But after work, Sarah came over for awhile and we made dinner together and then made root beer cake for dessert.

Wednesday 9/8 - I spent the evening with Sarah again. We went on a walk around "town" and then stopped to look at some ponies on the way back to my house. We then watched a movie with Luke. I may or may not have fallen asleep during the movie :-P At least Luke and Sarah enjoyed it, I think!

Thursday 9/9 - I was feeling very tired and melancholy on Thursday after work. I decided I needed to cheer myself up, so I went to the grocery store where I made some fall-themed purchases. I came home and made potato soup while my entire house smelled like apples and cinnamon thanks to a candle I had bought at Giant Eagle. It was perfect to cheer me up!

Friday 9/10 - After work, I made a homemade pumpkin spice latte. It was pretty good. I sipped it slowly while watching my favorite movie of all time, You've Got Mail. Later, Luke and I went to Hot Dog Shoppe for some delicious burgers and fries. It had been far too long since we had been there. We then rented some movies, and headed home to chillax all evening :-)
Saturday 9/11 - Luke apparently invited a bunch of friends over to watch the Ohio State game on Saturday. He forgot to tell me this, so I'm just thankful the house was halfway clean! Anyway, I had to leave during the game to go to the church. I am on the communications committee for our new building campaign at our church, so I was there from 4:30 until about 8:00 last night in a couple of different meetings, and also taking all the campaign members pictures and a few pictures of the new addition with JC's super awesome camera. anyway, after the meetings, I went over to my parents' house, because my mom had gone to an auction earlier that day, and she snagged an old sewing machine for me! I've been wanting one, so I was so excited! This one is from probably the 70s, but my mom says older ones are so much better than newer ones, because they are simple and easy to use, and because they are made to last a lot longer. Anyway, she gave me a quick sewing lesson, and then fed me dinner and apple crisp for dessert! So it was a good night ;-)

Milestones this week: I got my first ever sewing machine! Also found that I am absolutely loving being on the communications committee at church. It is a great new place for me to serve at church.

Movies I watched this week (+My Rating): To Save a Life (B), Cop Out (I slept through most of this, so can't rate it :-P), You've Got Mail (A+++)

Books I'm reading this week: This Present Darkness - Frank Perretti (still!), and The Bible (Judges)

Songs I'm loving this week: Autumn in New York - Ella Fitzgerald, Sweetly Broken - Jeremy Camp, Lead Me - Sanctus Reel

Things I'm looking Forward to Next Week: Having a Julie and Julia movie night with Sarah on Wednesday night!
