Virginia Beach: Day 2

Just checking in to post a quick update and a few pictures! The Internet's been a little touchy here, so we'll see if I'm actually able to post this!

Day 2: Sunday:

We woke up and ate cinnamon buns for breakfast. then we all headed out onto the balcony for awhile to see the Back Bay in the daylight (We got there right as the sun was setting the night before).

I love our colorful balcony!
Here's our view:
Most of the day was spent on the beach. When my family goes to the beach, we don't like to sit in the sand and relax all day. Nope...we're water people! We spent just about every moment while we were at the beach today in the waves with our boogie boards. This afternoon, the waves started coming so rapidly and so violently...it was so much fun!! Our legs are all pretty much torn up from the sand scraping against them as the strong waves carried us to shore. By the end of the afternoon, we were so used to it I don't think we even noticed it anymore.
Here are some beach pics:
(I love this one of Julie, even though it is blurry, and I totally cut off most of her body!)
There's part of our colorful condo...I love how in the advertisement photos, there's absolutely no one on the beach...yeah right :-P
My aunt, uncle, and cousins came to visit today. They swam in the ocean, and then we hung out by the pool for awhile. We went out to eat, and then had cake and ice cream to celebrate my cousin's birthday. They took my grandma with them when they left, and she's going to stay with them for the rest of the week. So it's just the five of us from here on out!
(Do you see my dad hiding in this picture?)
Julie and I LOVE the gorgeous pool area!
We ate at Baja, a restaurant right across the street from the condo. It doesn't look like much, and the service wasn't great, but the food was SO good, it made up for all that! Luke was trying to be funny and seriously wore our condo keys around his neck all evening. He kept saying he didn't want to lose them. And I wasn't embarrassed at all :-P I guess it was funny. It wasn't like we were at the most classy restaurant ever.
I got a fajita wrap, but I want to go back and order this pasta that my dad got. It looked and smelled delicious! (Dad's making a funny face here...he must have been in the middle of chewing :-))

After the extended family left, the rest of us sat down to watch a movie. We only made it about a half hour before we all fell asleep, except Luke! Now you see where I get it ;-)

Not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow, but I think it will involve significant amounts of beach time, perhaps a walk to the pier, and possibly exploring the nature preserve by our condo. I'm pretty excited :-)
