Weekend Fun

All summer, we've been looking forward to this weekend as the busiest weekend of summer:
Friday night: My cousin Stacey's wedding which my sister was in, and my mom did all the flowers for it.
Saturday morning: Our friend Cookie's wedding, which my mom was in, and helped put together the reception for her.
Sunday afternoon: Luke's family reunion.

It doesn't sound like a lot, but two weddings in the same weekend really is a lot! I helped my mom during the week getting the flowers ready for the wedding last night, but other than that, I didn't have too many responsibilities. So it's been a fun, non-stressful weekend for me :-)

One of my best friends came to the wedding last night. It was exciting, because she moved to
Chicago not too long ago, so I won't be able too see her too often anymore. But we're making plans for me and my sister to go visit her in Chi-town in a few weeks. I can't wait!! Anyway, I spent most of the evening with her, and it was a good time.

Here are the beautifully simple centerpieces made by my mom
Here I am with Julie (PS, I got my hair cut yesterday!)
Julie spent most of the night dancing with her new friends...
The adorable flowergirl was practically attached to her all evening
Here is one of the bridal party bouquets that my mom made. And Lindsey jumped in the picture at the last secondThe beautiful Bride!Toward the end of the evening, lindsey and I started getting a little silly. And no, we were not drinking :-P I usually think these little self-taken photo shoots are stupid. But we were literally laughing so hard we were almost crying. So I have to share!
Normal Pic.
Started getting goofyAngriest face. (I couldn't stop laughing and was talking...that's why I don't look angry)Saddest face. Lindsey says I look like the little girl from "The Orphan" in this picture. Creepy.Surprised face
"Jessica's coming to Chicago!!" Face
So it was a fun night. And Cookie's wedding was this morning at 10. So there were less than 12 hours between the end of last night's wedding, and this morning's wedding. But it was a good time this morning, too. Now I'm trying to talk Luke into going out for lunch or dinner (linner?) today, and Julie and I are going to play tennis later this afternoon.

Tomorrow I have to make my poppy seed chicken again (now renamed heart attack chicken by our family) for Luke's family reunion. And we will spend the afternoon there. Luke is going to the hall of fame game tomorrow night, and I'm planning on trying to find someone who will go see "Juile and Julia" with me. A movie about cooking AND blogging??? Sounds like my kinda movie! Has anyone seen it yet??

And in exactly 1 week from this moment, I will be on my way to Virginia Beach!! So this week will be spent preparing for that.

Well I'm going to sign off and enjoy the rest of my weekend :-) Have a great one!

  1. I love the different face pictures! It's nice to know my friends and I aren't the only ones who do that.
And if I was in Ohio, I would totally go and see Julie and Julia with you! I'm dying to see that movie - cooking and blogging - you're right, it can't get much better.

  2. Your mom did a great job on the centerpieces. And your hair is adorable!
