44 Days and a Prayer Request

There are 44 days until spring. Not too bad! In my opinion, we've made it through the biggest milestone of winter: January. It seems like such a long month! But in February and March I can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus I have some pretty awesome things to look forward to in the next few months:

1. Remedy Drive concert this Friday...Luke's band is opening for them!!
2. 4 day weekend beginning a week from Friday!
3. Valentines Day :-)
4. Only 28 days in February
5. More snow days (Hopefully)
6. Sled riding, snow tubing or ice skating.
7. Fixing up my grandma's apartment before she moves in this spring. Such an answer to prayer!
8. Drinking more hot chocolate with whipped cream
9. Continuing Dave Ramsey's FPU course at our church
10. Helping in the preschool class at KBC every Wednesday at church...and helping with Luke!
11. Cleveland Auto Show coming up at the beginning of March
12. The days are gradually getting longer!
13. Two good-looking movies come out this month: Confessions of a Shopaholic, and He's Just Not That into You

Thirteen things to look forward to in the next 6 weeks will make the rest of winter easier to bear. I have a really hard time with winter in general, so I have to focus on the positive. And NOT focus on the fact that it is 9 degrees right now and snowing!

If you think about it, could you pray for our friend Jeremy? He lives in Georgia now, but used to live here. He was very involved in our church and even led the middle school youth group for a few years. He has 2 young daughters and a baby son, and a beautiful wife.

The doctors found a tumor in Jeremy's brain a while ago, and he had surgery today to take care of it. It was then that they discovered that it was actually brain cancer. The outlook doesn't look good. But I know that God can do amazing things if we just pray.

My mom's cousin was diagnosed with what the doctors said was terminal cancer twelve years ago. We had a big prayer service at church for him, and a few weeks later he was healed. The cancer was completely gone, and hasn't ever returned. This is proof that God does perform miracles in situations like these. He's in control, and has a reason for everything. I'm praying for a miracle for Jeremy if it is God's will.

Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times, Oh people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge."

  1. I'll keep your friend Jeremy in my prayers. That's so sad. I'm glad to see the list of things to look forward to, it makes it a little more bearable!
