On Saturday night Luke and I went out with his entire family to the movies to see Taken.
It was AMAZING. I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie! I would totally recommend it if you're into incredibly suspenseful, action-packed movies!
And Sunday was, of course, the Superbowl! I'm not real into football (unlike my sports-fanatic husband), but I like watching the Superbowl. This year we were rooting for the Cardinals, just because no matter what, we ALWAYS root AGAINST Pittsburgh. Our loyalty resides with Cleveland, no matter how badly they suck!
Luke couldn't find any cheap Cardinals shirts when he went shopping on Saturday, so he bought some sharpies and a white T-shirt instead :-) He drew this free-hand. Luke is a little bit of an artist, although he keeps it a secret! The back was cool too, but it's a tiny bit vulgar, so I'll refrain from posting the picture :-P Luke's a good Christian guy, but sometimes he forgets that he's 24 and acts like a 15 year old again.
We spent the evening at our friend Michael's house last night. There were only about 10 of us there, so it was an intimate little party. It was fun! Except that there was one Steelers fan there who liked to rub the loss in our faces. Not cool! But that's okay. It was an amazing game, and even I got a little nervous about it!
Did everyone catch the commercials? Every time I had to get up for food or a restroom break, I would do it during the game so I didn't miss any commercials! We all decided that there were a lot of mediocre ones, and a few truly funny ones. My 2 favorites were the Coke commercial with all the bugs, just because I thought it was adorable! And the Doritos commercial with the "crystal ball." We laughed so hard we almost cried at that one!
After such a fun weekend, it wasn't too fun coming back to the real world today. And I had a bad day...our principal decided it was okay for her to observe me without ANY advanced warning. She literally just waltzed into the classroom and said "I need to observe you today." This is their way to evaluate the staff. As an aide, I wasn't aware that I had to be observed...it came as quite a shock to me! I think it went okay, but it still got me all nervous and worked up. Then I finally got home after work and I was carrying a purse, a big bag, and a handful of mail while I walked toward the door. I stepped on some black ice and totally wiped out. It happened so fast I was sprawled out on the ground with my bags and mail all lying around me before I even knew what happened. So that didn't help my mood too much! Luckily I didn't get hurt badly. To top my day off, I have to go grocery shopping later, my least favorite thing to do! I'm just glad Monday's pretty much over!
Oh...by the way...thanks a lot, Punxsutawney Phil, for seeing your shadow and ensuring that we'll have another 6 long weeks of winter :-P
I suddenly have the strong urge to go watch Groundhog Day...I think I'll watch it while I make my grocery list and fix dinner :-)
I'm sure you did great on your evaluation. I know how you feel- I do fine at work, but as soon as my chef is watching me, I get all anxious and nervous and make stupid little mistakes.
